Student Assistance Program (SAP)

WHAT IS THE STUDENT ASSISTANT PROGRAM?

SAP is a state-wide program offered in all public schools. The purpose of the program is  to identify students who are experiencing barriers to learning and school success because of personal difficulties. Some of these difficulties could include mental health issues (such as depression or anxiety), life stressors (such as the death of a loved one, child abuse, or divorce), and/or substance abuse.

HOW DO I MAKE A REFERRAL TO THE SAP PROGRAM?

If you or someone you care about is experiencing any of these issues, you can make a confidential SAP Referral with the SAP Form. These forms are conveniently located online, in the library, and school counseling office. Scholars may also drop a note in the Lend A Hand lockers. The SAP team, along with the parent/guardian of the student, will assist in identifying helpful school and/or community resources to be utilized by the student and their family. The SAP process is voluntary and confidential.

If you are concerned about your child, yourself (if a student), or a friend, fill out a referral form! All referrals are confidential.
